Our
History
North
Henrico Civic Association (NHCA) started on February 5,
1941 as Chamberlayne Heights Civic Association.
There were 30 homes in this area and the members rotated
meetings in each other’s homes, and together, worked
to resolve problems for the common good. In 1946
the neighbors were feeling the need for a large place
to meet and started a building fund. In 1953 the
Association was incorporated as the number of homes in
the area had grown tremendously and it boundaries were
expanded. |

After
22 years the Association had finally built a brick meeting
place of its own. The dedication of the building
took place on May 6, 1963. Also, on this date
the Association changed its name to North Chamberlayne
Civic Association.

Over
the years NCCA has been the eyes, ears and mouth of the
community. We work to keep our members informed
about issues that affect us all including such things
as zoning, utilities and crime |
